How does Phone Guard catch a wrong unlock?
Android tells Guard about every wrong unlock code. Guard takes a front-camera photo and seals it so only your vault can open it.
What is a duress code, and when should you use one?
A second PIN or password that erases the whole vault the moment it's typed, and leaves an empty-looking app behind.
How do you move files into the vault safely?
Import keeps your originals. Move checks the encrypted copy first, then erases the original. Here's what that can and can't promise.
How do you back up your vault to Google Drive?
An encrypted copy of the whole vault, refreshed daily while the vault is locked, saved wherever you pick. Only your password or recovery code opens it.
How do you restore your vault on a new phone?
Pick the backup file, type the password or recovery code, and every file is checked before anything is moved in.
How do you choose a strong vault password?
The password can't be reset, and a backup file can be attacked offline. Aim for 12 or more characters you'll remember.
Why does the app have no internet permission?
Without Android's internet permission the app can't send anything anywhere. Here's what that protects and what it costs.
What happens if you forget your vault password?
Nobody can recover it, including us. But a PIN, fingerprint or recovery-code backup may still get your files back.
What should you do before you uninstall the app?
Turn off unlock detection first, and save what you want to keep. Uninstalling deletes everything the app stored on the phone.
Why won't the vault open on a rooted phone?
Root breaks the walls Android puts around each app. The vault won't open on a phone that looks rooted; Home and Guard still work.
